Sumy NPO equipment was put into operation on Savekh compressor station in Iran.

The contract for equipment delivery was signed by Sumy NPO named after Frunze and National Iranian Gas Company in 2008. Under the contract Sumy NPO manufactured seven gas pumping units each rated at 25 MW for Savekh compressor station. They were designed around DU 80 gas turbines developed and manufactured by Zorya-Mashproject NPKG. Under the contract specialists of the enterprise carried out construction and commissioning works.

The construction was started in 2008. At present Savekh compressor station is the biggest not only in Iran but also in Middle East. Commissioning of compressor station gives the opportunity to transport natural gas to central, north and north-west parts of the country. The compressor station is capable to pump more than 160 bln m3 of natural gas per day. At present Sumy NPO commissioned gas turbine plants on many compressor stations in Iran.
