The contract for design works was signed with TGK-9 JSC. The project of Nizhneturinskaya GRES modernization includes installation of two PGU-230 combined cycle power units on the base of Alstom GT13E2 gas turbine plants each rated at 230 MW. Total electric output of the station will be 460 MW, thermal output will be 319 MW. At present Nizhneturinskaya GRES power station output is 284 MW. It generates electric and thermal power for the needs of Nizhnaya Tura and Lesnoy towns.

It connected with main power grid with voltages of 110 and 220 kV.
