IN BRIEF #6-2020

New generation power center with total electric output of 24,9 MW was constructed by VAPOR Company.
Gas engine power station was constructed on Efremov area of advanced social and economic development in Efremov, Tulskaya Region. The primary consumer of the power generated by the station is the enterprises of Cargill company. The project was realized by VAPOR JSC in close cooperation with FILTER AS (Estonia) on a turn-key basis. The station was developed on the base of six JMS 624 (INNIO Jenbacher) gas engine power plants with total electric output of 24.9 MW and six EGB Clayton steam waste-heat boilers with total thermal output 10 tons of steam per hour.

Refurbishment of hot gas path components in the Service Center of Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies.
The super alloys have unique high-temperature properties which allow their use to produce GT hot gas path components.
But these properties are not sufficient to withstand the impacts of the aggressive environment they are exposed to during operation. To decrease the temperature influence and to obtain additional corrosion resistance, special protective coatings are applied to the components.
Siemens Energy offers a wide range of custom built and patented corrosion-resistant and thermal barrier coatings.
They enable the operation of gas turbines without reducing the components’ lifetime at the temperature range close to the melting temperatures of base materials of blades and vanes. Reliability and sustainability of coating characteristics highly depend on accuracy of every step of process like surface preparation, heat treatment, as well as on quality of powder and gases, which are applied during the process.

Innovative design of Power2 two-stage turbocharger system of second generation.
High efficiency of Power2 turbochaging system is achieved by means of special construction of the system. The main part of the design is compressor and turbine parts. Pressure ratios of compressors and turbines of high and low pressure stages in two-stage turbocharging systems are usually different from pressure ratio of single-stage systems. High pressure turbocompressor has two variants of the compressor which are defined in accordance with required total level of pressure ratio. The compressor of high pressure stage of first generation provides optimal compressor output for the applications with pressure ratios up to 10. For the applications with pressure ratios up to 12 absolutely new design of compressor high pressure stage was developed.

Mobile version of Korvet-1.7K gas turbine power plant.
Over the past few years Energotechnika company created and commissioned EGTES Korvet gas turbine power plants under turnkey contracts with the application of up-to-date and high-effective gas turbine drives in the range of 2 to 3 MW.
Implementation of mobile version of Korvet-1.7K gas turbine power plant is the new stage in the development of the company and its equipment portfolio. EGTES Korvet power plant was designed around Kawasaki M1A-17D gas turbine.
The decision about mobile version of gas turbine plant was made on the base of operation experience in industrial and oil & gas spheres. Special arrangement of power plant gives the opportunity to transport equipment on low roader. Thanks to modular design assembling and disassembling of the plant can be carried out within the shortest time period. Mobile version has high efficiency and low emission levels.

Investigation of fuel and load flexibility in a SGT-700/800 burner under atmospheric pressure conditions using high speed
OH-PLIF and OH chemiluminiscence imaging.
Fuel and load flexibility have been increasingly important features of industrial gas turbines in order to meet the demand for increased utilization of renewable fuels and to provide a way to balance the grid fluctuations due to the unsteady supply of wind and solar power.
Experimental investigations were performed in a standard 3rd generation dry low emission (DLE) burner under atmospheric pressure conditions to study the effect of load variations and hydrogen (H2) enrichment in a natural gas (NG) flame. High-speed kHz planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) of OH radicals and imaging of OH chemiluminescence were employed to investigate the flame stabilization, flame turbulence interactions, and flame dynamics. Along with the optical measurements, combustion emissions were also recorded to observe the effect of changing operating conditions on NOX level.

Diesel engine power station was constructed in Tiksi settlement within the Polar circle.

Diesel power station with total electric output of 3 MW was commissioned in Tiksi settlement (Sakha Republic).
Power station operates as a part of the wind park consisted of three wind turbines with total electric output of 900 kW and energy storage system. The project was realized under the agreement signed by Government of Sakha Republic and NEDO organization (Japan) for the development of advanced power generation and industrial technologies. The customer of the project is Sakhaenergo JSC (the affiliate of Yakutskenergo PJSC).
General designer of the station is Intertechelectro company.

Diesel engines: how the problem of NOx emission will be solved in 2021.
The meaningful constraints for levels of NOx emissions into the atmosphere for diesel engines will come into effect in January 2021 both for particular country and on a worldwide basis. National standard, according to GOST 31967-2012 for piston diesel internal combustion engines, allows the level of specified average-weighted NOx emission conducting to NO2 not higher than 6.0 grams (kWh). Emission Partner company developed special solution for diesel engine power plants with electric output in the range of 1000…1100 kW.
This solution is EP-D- 1000-NOx selective catalytic reduction system.
The power plants of such output are operated in many regions of Russia and application of Emission Partner’ solution will provide the opportunity to significantly reduce capital and operation costs of the plants.
EP-D-1000-NOx SCR system includes all necessary components for successful operation by the customer.

Focus on digitalization and efficiency: results of the conference of Distributed power generation association at HEAT&POWER-2020 exhibition.
On 27th–29 thof October, Crocus-Expo exhibition center in Moscow hosted Russia’s the only exhibition of heat supply equipment for civil and industrial facilities HEAT&POWER- 2020. Under the event All-Russia research-to-practice conference devoted to on-site power generation at the enterprises was held on 28 thof October. During the event power generation specialists from different companies discussed special aspects of up-to-date requirements to the objects of distributed power generation.

Holistic approach for performance and emission development of high speed gas and dual fuel engines.
A holistic, interdisciplinary approach integrating skill groups into one team forming a structured development process is required, starting with the documentation of the specific functional requirements while understanding the business model of the customer in detail. Proceeding with the synthesis and system validation, the overall engineering task is to ensure system integration from concept to production and operation with the goal of providing a high quality gas or dual fuel engine that
meets the end user needs.
In view of limited manpower, resources and time, there is often a demand for trading optimality, completeness or precision especially when classic methods are considered being too slow.
