The impeller for hydro unit No. 12 will be the 16th updated wheel at Cheboksary HPP. The modernization of hydro turbines involves the reconstruction of the mechanism of rotation of the blades of the impellers. This makes it possible to significantly improve the technical and economic performance of the hydroelectric unit and increase the efficiency of the hydroelectric power plant as a whole.

The impeller has been upgraded and has passed functional tests at the Leningrad Metal Plant (Power Machines JSC).
