IN BRIEF 5-2024

6 Ural Turbine Works expands production of power equipment

Russian power engineering is on the rise! In this issue, you can read an interview with O.V. Shevchenko, CEO of TurboService Rus, who answered the most relevant editorial questions for the power industry of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. The key topic of the issue is the development, production and maintenance of equipment of the Ural Turbine Works. The company's specialists have prepared several articles on this topic. On the pages of the magazine you will find materials about other companies and their key products. Thus, the specialists of ROTEK Components and Materials LLC have prepared an article on the creation and testing of workable seals, the intensive development and production of which the company is engaged in. Also in the issue you can find articles by authors from several universities – SPbPU, UrFU, MPEI, which present the results of the work of their of scientists.

8 Application of technological innovations in the service of gas turbines

«Our goal is to remain among the leaders, and we are making all the necessary efforts to do this: we are expanding production, installing equipment, recruiting and training specialists. The range of machines we service is constantly expanding. We continue to move towards technological innovation in order to implement solutions that will ensure our customers trouble-free and efficient operation of their equipment.»

Oleg Viktorovich Shevchenko, CEO of TurboService Rus, told about the achievements and plans of the company, the prospects for using advanced technologies in the repair of gas turbines.

60 KMPO power plant is an affordable alternative to foreign power equipment

The modern direction of energy today is the development and production of gas turbine plants, which are used for combined power and heat generation and are more efficient than large energy facilities. Following this trend, KMPO JSC offers consumers equipment that is a full-fledged alternative to foreign analogues – the GTPP-18 Volga gas turbine power plant.

76 Adsorption and application of pressed cellulose for filtration of sludge, varnish and minimization of varnish deposits

This article continues the cycle of publications devoted to the operation of machines and mechanisms, increasing their life cycle. First of all, due to proper operation and proper use of working fluids. Varnish, sludge or resin deposits are products of lubricant degradation, one of the most destructive oil pollutants in the industry. Along with such common harmful factors as high temperature, contamination by solid particles and moisture, varnish and sludge significantly affect the lubricant and reduce the reliability of the equipment, acting as a soft pollutant. Such mild pollutants can occur even in the most well-maintained systems. Paradoxically, this can also happen when the oil is new, as well as in heat-resistant synthetic lubricants and hydraulic fluids.

82 Analysis of turbine oil for foreign gas turbines

A large number of turbine oil brands are offered on the Russian market for GTU, a significant part of which are represented by foreign manufacturers. In the Russian Federation, the procedure for working oils monitoring is regulated by Standards of the company, GOST and the rules of operation of power plants. At the same time, operators of stations where foreign-made gas or steam turbines are operated often note the lack of regulatory documentation for monitoring the parameters of the working oil. The article highlights the key parameters of the analysis of modern turbine oils from both foreign and domestic manufacturers, and also presents documents that should be guided, except for the above mentioned. Most modern turbine oils are produced on the basis of hydrocracking oils due to the relatively cheap cost of this raw material and high quality.

86 Single-support or double-support. Choosing a generator for gas engine plant

When choosing any complex technical product, there are many nuances that can only be understood by specialists, but affect the operation of the product itself to one degree or another. When choosing a power plant, one of such important factors is the configuration of the generator, or rather, the number of bearings in its design. But paradoxically, there are significant disagreements on this issue, and most suppliers of power plants state completely opposite opinions on this matter. In this article, we will try to clarify this critical issue. First, you need to reveal the essence of the terms - single-support and double-support generator.

102 Gas turbine power plants of the AG series for distributed energy production

Considering the significant scientific and technical potential accumulated back in Soviet times and the acquired experience of cooperation with world leaders in the field of small-scale energy, the Electrosystems company came to the need to develop its own samples of microturbine power plants. This step was a natural continuation of the tendency for innovation and leadership in their field of activity. To this end, the company conducted a thorough analysis of potential suppliers of microturbine engines and assemblies.

126 Heinrich Tapp Rus Company: new reality – new opportunities

The German company Heinrich Tapp has started its activities in the city of Muhlheim on Ruhr more than a hundred years ago, in 1909, with the production of thermal and sound insulation of industrial rotating equipment. The first projects were insulation works for steam engines of traction locomotives. In 1920, the company expanded its field of activity and began to design and manufacture insulation for all types of industrial equipment. In the 1960s, they decided to focus on the energy sector, namely, on the isolation of industrial steam and energy- turbines and auxiliary equipment related to turbines. In our century, since 2010, the company has included insulation for gas turbines, compressors and pumps in the list of products. Heinrich Tapp Rus LLC was established in March 2020 to conduct business in two directions: supply of various equipment for the industrial sector of the Russian economy; international logistics.
