The commissioning of the equipment is scheduled for the end of the year. After the completion of the Smolensk CHP modernization program, its thermal and electrical capacity will be increased significantly. The first stage of CHP-2 was commissioned in 1973, the second in 1982. By now, the equipment has exhausted its life, two from three steam turbines need to be replaced.
