PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources increased the output of gas turbine power station on Kumkol oil field (Kazakhstan).

Two additional GE Energy MS5001 gas turbine power plants each rated at 26.8 MW were installed on the station. Two similar power plants are in operation on the site since 2004. The primary fuel for the station is casing-head gas from Kumkol, Yuzhny Kumkol and severny Kumkol oil fields.

The station operates in simple cycle. Generated electric power is used for the needs of field infrastructure. Excess power (around 30 MW) is supplied to national grid. At present total electric output of the station is 104 MW.

The financing of the project is accomplished at the expense of internal funds of the Consortium.
