Meaford Energy, a joint venture between St. Modwen and Glenfinnan, has announced a proposal to construct a new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station on the Meaford Business Park, located near Stone in Staffordshire, the UK.

Spread across 30 acres of the 85-acre Meaford Business Park, the proposed 299MWe project will include turbine halls featuring gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, a steam turbine hall, air-cooled condensers, a demineralised water plant and an electrical substation and transformers.

Once operational, the project will supply its output to Western Power Distribution, the distribution network operator, as an embedded connection, helping to reduce reliance on National Grid's national electricity transmission network.

Siemens will deliver the key components for a power station that is going to supply the future Yamal LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) production plant in Northern Russia with electricity and heat. The Siemens scope of supply comprises the design, manufacture, factory testing, delivery, installation and commissioning of eight SGT-800 industrial gas turbines as well as nine step-up transformers. Four of these turbines will additionally be equipped with waste heat recovery units. The power plant will have an electrical output of 376 megawatts (MWe). The order has been placed by the Russian engineering company Technopromexport (TPE), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rostec State Corporation.

The Siemens SGT-800 industrial gas turbine combines a reliable robust design with high efficiency and low emissions and is qualified especially for such harsh climate conditions like in the area north of the Arctic Circle.

The project is realized by LUK0il-Perm, Ltd. The designed electric output of the station is 16 MW. It will consist of four modular Ural-4000 gas turbine plants manufactured by Aviadvigatel JSC, five modular NOEMI booster compressor stations. At present the second power plant is under commissioning on the site. The third and fourth plants will be delivered to the customer next year. Ural-4000 gas turbine plant was developed on the base of GTU-4P gas turbine. The station will operate on casing-head gas with high hydrogen sulphide content without preliminary treatment. After commissioning the station will generate 134.4 mln kWh of electric power per year for the needs of the field infrastructure. It will give the opportunity to utilize more than 40 mln m3 of casing-head gas.

The construction of the station was started at the beginning of 2013. Total electric output of the station will be 16 MW. It will consist of four Caterpillar CG260-16 gas engine plants each rated at 4.3 MW. The supplier of main power equipment is Zeppelin PS Rus, Ltd. The station will be constructed in Ust-Labinsky District of Krasnodar Area. The project is being realized on turn-key basis. The station will be commissioned in three stages. The first power unit of the station will be put into operation in fourth quarter of 2013. The commissioning of second unit is planned in second quarter of 2014. The third unit will be commissioned in fourth quarter of 2014. The station will generate electric power for the needs of industrial enterprises situated close to the station.

The station consists of three MWM TCG2020V12 gas engine power plants. Total electric output of the station is 3.4 MW, thermal output is 3.8 MW. The customer of the project is PLP-Energy, Ltd. At the end of 2013 the station will be integrated with gas boiler-house rated at 16 MW which is now under construction. Generated electric power will be used for the needs of inductrial enterprises sutuated nearby the power station.
