In France, offshore wind turbines are planned to be used to produce green hydrogen.

French companies Lhyfe and DORiS want to combine an offshore wind farm with an electrolysis plant and thus produce hydrogen at sea. To this end, a producer of green hydrogen and a specialist in the construction of coastal wind farms have concluded a cooperation agreement. The companies have been working on integrating the Lhyfe electrolyzer into the float of the DORiS Nerewind offshore wind turbine for more than two years. The project budget is about 60 million euros and includes the costs of research, development and production of the first prototype.
