Taiwanese power generation company Ta-Yuan Cogen has selected technology firm Wärtsilä to reduce its reliance on heavy fuel oil for power generation. Wärtsilä will convert Ta-Yuan Cogen’s cogeneration power plant in Taoyuan City from heavy fuel oil to operate on natural gas. As part of an engineering, procurement, and construction contract signed by the two companies, Wärtsilä is providing its three 50DF dual-fuel engines with a total power output of 32MW. The three natural gas-fueled engines will replace existing three Wärtsilä 46 engines which were installed in 1998.

ALL-IN-ONE is an expandable controller for both single and multiple gen-sets operating in standby or parallel modes, especially in cogeneration (CHP) and other complex applications. Modular design (consisting of AIO controller and display unit) allows easy installation with the ability to add many different extension modules designed to suit individual customer requirements. AIO supports many standard ECU (electronic control unit) types from which it can read relevant control data via Bus.

Ignitis Group, Lithuania's state-owned energy holding company, has contracted the Nordex Group to supply 14 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines. The Delta4000 series turbines are projected for the 63 MW Mazeikiai wind farm in the north-west of the country. The contract also includes a premium service contract of the turbines for 15 years.

The infrastructure works are scheduled to start in the middle of the current year, with the delivery and installation of the turbines scheduled for 2022. In order to generate the highest yields at the site the Nordex Group will install the turbines on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 155 metres.
