The project of modernization was developed by Koral Central Design Bureau under the order of VietSovPetro Russian-Vietnamese joint venture.

New power equipment was supplied by Mamins Volga Diesel Plant. Set of delivery includes three DGM 450 (VDM 2000) power units. Each of them was developed on the base of MTU 20V4000P63 diesel engines rated at 2 MW. They are equipped with Leroy-Somer LSA 53M 85/4p electric generators. The plants operate in island mode.

Base and emergency modes of operation are possible. The station is equipped with stand-by diesel generating set rated at 700 kW. It was designed around MTU 16V2000P62 diesel engine and Leroy-Somer LSA 50.1 S20 C6S/4. The station control system also was modernized on the base of ComAp controllers.

GE will supply 38 wind turbines for four wind projects in construction in Northern Poland. When operational, these projects, referred to collectively as Darlowo Wind Energy Center - Phase Two (Darlowo - Phase Two), will mark the first use of GE’s 2.5-megawatt class wind turbines that feature 103-meter rotors for high productivity in Poland.

Invenergy Wind LLC (Invenergy) and Polish development company Enerco sp. z o.o. (Enerco) are collaborating to develop nine wind energy generation projects in the region in and around Darlowo, near the Baltic Sea.

GE provided 32 wind turbines for Darlowo - Phase One, which was fully commissioned in March 2011 and today produces 80 megawatts of power.

Darlowo - Phase Two, comprised of the Boryszewo, Krupy, Stary Jarosław and Nowy Jarosław facilities, will bring the total installed capacity of wind energy in the Darłowo area to 175 megawatts.

Darlowo - Phase Three will consist of two additional projects - Gorzyca and Pekanino - which currently are under contract. These sites will boost the aggregate output of the nine Darlowo projects to 250 megawatts.

Alstom announced the successful completion of the handover of the 1.2 GW Shoaiba III steam power plant to the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), following timely completion of the project's final unit.

Comprising three individual 400 MW blocks, the Shoaiba III plant began in September 2008 and has been built around Alstom's proven STF40 steam turbines and GIGATOP 2-pole turbogenerators. To meet stringent Saudi environmental regulations, it also utilises Alstom's environmental control systems expertise. A seawater flue gas desulphurisation (SWFGD) system drastically cuts emissions by using brine to strip sulphur oxides from the flue gas, whilst NOx-reducing tangential firing technology employed in the boilers mitigates nitrogen oxides – both helping make Shoaiba III a cleaner electricity provider.

Located on the Red Sea coast 100 km south of Jeddah, Shoaiba III is part of the enormous Shoaiba facility, which now generates a total of 5,600 megawatts to the Saudi grid from its fourteen units. Not just the largest power plant in the Kingdom but also the biggest in the whole region, Shoaiba has become known as 'the Giant of the Middle East'.
