The power plant provides electric power for the first in Russia natural gas liquefaction works located in Prigorodnoye settlement, Sakhalin. The general designer and contractor for the project is Parsons company, Great Britain. The power plant was constructed under Sakhalin-2 project. The president of Russian Federation and prime-minister of Japan took part in the ceremony of works' starting.
Gas turbine power plant is designed on the base of four H-25 power units and operates in cogeneration cycle. Centrifugal compressors, two rated at 21 MW each and the other two 3 MW each, were also delivered by Hitachi. Excess power will be used for technological needs of the enterprise and for electric power supply of the nearby settlement. H-25 gas turbine unit has the capacity 27.5 MW, the efficiency is 33.8 %. It is equipped with dry low NOx and COx combustion chamber (DLNC) providing NOx emissions less than 25 ppm.

The customer for the project is CNOOC, China national oil company. The general designer and contractor is Harbinsky marine boilers and turbines research institute. GTPP with the capacity 6 MW and the efficiency 30 % operates in parallel with the power grid. It satisfies the needs of the chemicals plant in electric power.
In March 2009 the power plant run continuous testing. The power unit is designed on the base of UGT6000 (DV71) turbine by Zorya-Mashproekt. QFW-6-Z generator with output voltage 6.3 kV was manufactured in China. The power plant can be run on casing-head gas or natural gas.

Mannheim-based MWM GmbH, one of the world's leading providers of decentralized energy generation plants, has announced the launch of a new engine. TCG 2016C will be introduced as the successor of TCG 2016 and TCG 2016B. It is characterized by higher overall and thermal efficiency. TCG 2016C is available as V12 and V16 and provides an output ranging from 555 to 800 kW (mechanical). It can be run with natural gas or biogas. Under ISO conditions, the overall efficiency for natural gas operation with a minimum methane number of 80 is 85.1% for the twelve-cylinder edition and 85.7% for the sixteen-cylinder edition. For the biogas edition, the higher compression ratio in comparison to the natural gas edition enables an overall efficiency of 82.9% for the twelve-cylinder edition and 83.4% for the sixteen-cylinder edition under ISO conditions. TCG 2016C actively contributes to high efficiency, which is vital especially for biogas plants.

GE Energy announced today that Edipower, a leading Italian generation company, has selected GE Energy’s ecomagination-certified gas turbine emissions control technology to meet regional greenhouse gas emissions standards at the company’s Sermide facility. Edipower will achieve the new NOx emissions standards for combined-cycle power plants, the most aggressive in Europe, with the help of GE’s DLN 2.6+ system. Edipower provides nearly eight percent of Italy’s energy needs, generating 7,700 megawatts (MW) of capacity annually, including 750 MW generated by renewable energy resources.
On January 1, 2009, the region of Lombardy, Italy, enacted new standards limiting nitrous oxide (NOx) emissions to 30 milligrams (mg) /Nm3 as compared to present levels of 50 mg/Nm3, for a total emissions reduction of 40 percent. Edipower’s combined-cycle power plant in Sermide will meet the new standards with the installation of GE’s Dry Low NOx (DLN) 2.6+ system.
By adding the DLN 2.6+ system to its Sermide facility, Edipower will limit its greenhouse gas emissions, such as NOx and carbon monoxide (CO), to below the 30 mg/Nm3 cap. The DLN 2.6+ system also will reduce the minimum operating load levels for the gas turbines to 35 percent, improving the operating flexibility and increasing benefits to both the environment and project economics.
GE will upgrade all three 9FA+e gas turbines operating at the Sermide facility with the advanced DLN 2.6+ combustion systems. To meet Edipower's requirements for a short-cycle project, GE will perform each upgrade starting in parallel with a planned maintenance outage, thus requiring minimal additional stoppage time to the power plant’s production.
GE Energy's newest dry low NOx combustion system, DLN 2.6+, was developed to help power plant operators meet or exceed the increasingly stringent regulatory requirements in Europe and elsewhere around the world. Capable of reducing NOx and CO emissions by 40 percent or more on GE Frame 9FA gas turbines, this technology has been certified under GE’s ecomagination program to address the need for cleaner, more efficient sources of energy to reduce emissions.
