As part of the 207 MW framework agreement announced on 7 March 2014 between Vestas and the joint venture of German utility EnBW and the Turkish holding company Borusan, Vestas will supply 48 V112-3.3 MW turbines for three wind power plants in Turkey.

The Mut, Harmanlık and Koru RES wind power plants will be installed across three different regions near the cities of Mersin, Bursa and Çanakkale, respectively. Delivery of all three projects is expected to occur in the final quarter of 2014 with commissioning in the second quarter of 2015.

Together, the three contracts amount to 158.4 MW and include supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system, as well as a five-year full-scope service agreement (AOM 4000).

Main power equipment of the station will be manufactured and supplied by Rolt power systems. Total electric output of the station will be 10 MW, thermal output will be 11.6 MW. The station will generate electric and thermal power for the needs of nickel plant and green-houses situated near by the production facilities.

The station will consist of five ROLT PSG 2000 power plants which were developed on the base of Caterpillar G3516H gas engines. The delivery of first two plants is planned in the middle of 2014. The units will be equipped with Alfa Laval plate heat exchangers. At the second stage three more power plants will be delivered to the site.

The station consists of two JMS 612 gas engine plants each rated at 2000 kW, thermal output is 1850 kW. The project was realized by Intma JSC under turn-key contract. The station operates in island mode in parallel with the main power grid. Electrical efficiency of the station is 45%. It will give the opportunity to provide pay-back period of 3-5 years. Waste heat from the plants is used for thermal power generation for the needs of green-houses. The station is also equipped with peaking boiler-house. This scheme gives the opportunity to substantially reduce the costs of thermal power supply.

The Gemini consortium has signed all construction, operations and financing contracts yesterday with a total construction budget of nearly EUR 3 billion. With more than 20 parties involved 70 percent of this budget will be provided on the basis of project financing – making Gemini the largest-ever project financed offshore wind farm. For the Gemini project Siemens will deliver 150 wind turbines with a capacity of 4 megawatts (MW) and a rotor diameter of 130 meters each.

The wind power plant is to be located in the North Sea, 85 km above the coast of Groningen. With an installed capacity of 600 MW in total Gemini will yield 2.6 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity per year. The wind power plant will supply clean energy for one and a half million people after being fully commissioned. The amount of energy is equivalent to a reduction in the emission of CO2 by 1,25 million tons per year.

For Siemens this is the first order for an offshore wind power plant in Dutch waters.

EFKO Group of Companies commissioned power station in Alekseevka settlement in Belgorodskaya Region. The station comprises of MTU Onsite Energy GmbH GB 1948 N5 gas engine power plants. Total electric output of the station is 3.9 MW, thermal out-put is 4 MW. The main fuel for the station is natural gas. It is the first gas engine power station of the company in Belgorodskaya Region. The station will provide up to 30% of electric power demands of production facility of the company.

Earlier the similar station was commissioned on the site of EFKO production facilities in Taman (Krasnodar Area). Total electric power output of two power stations is 11.7 MW.
