Vestas has received a 101 MW order for 56 V100-1.8 MW turbines from Consumers Energy, for the utility’s Lake Winds Energy Park in Mason County, Michigan, USA.

The Lake Winds Energy Park can provide enough electricity to power 30,000 Michigan homes.Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2012, and commissioning is expected in the second half of 2012.

This is the second commercial-scale wind power plant in Michigan to use Vestas turbines. The first, Harvest Wind, was built in 2007 and includes 32 V82-1.65 MW turbines.

Gas turbine power station will be constructed by Iskra-Energetika JSC under the order of Rusvietpetro, which is joint venture of Zarubezhneft JSC and Petrovietnam State Oil & Gas Corporation of Vietnam. Gas turbine power station will generate electric power for the needs of oil fields infrastructure.

Designed electric output of the station is 72 MW (first unit output is 36 MW). The station was designed around six EGES-12PG2 gas turbine power plants developed by Iskra NPO and manufactured by Iskra-Energetika JSC. EGES-12PG2 was developed on the base of GTU-12PG2 gas turbine plant manufactured by Aviadvigatel JSC. The plants are equipped with TS-12-2RYKhL3 electric generators manufactured by Electrotyazhmash-Privod Ltd. and hot-water waste-heat boilers supplied by Ukhtinsky Experimental-Mechanical Plant. The main fuel for the station is casing-head gas.

The 1,000th GE wind turbine to be installed in Canada will enter service next month at Cartier Wind Energy’s Gros Morne project in the Gaspésie Region of Quebec, GE announced at CanWEA’s 27th Annual Conference and Exhibition. Continuing to expand its presence in Canada’s wind energy sector, GE expects to have more than 1,100 wind turbines installed in the country by the end of this year.

The 1,000th unit is among 67 GE 1.5-megawatt wind turbines to be installed as part of the first phase of the Gros Morne project; the second phase will add another 74 units.

The first Canadian installation of a GE wind turbine was in Alberta in 2004, and today, GE machines are installed across four Canadian provinces - Alberta, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario - helping governments in those regions meet their greenhouse gas emissions regulations.

The Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) covers all nine GT13E2 gas turbines and the scope includes the supply of new hot gas path components and provision of reconditioning services for all major inspections over the term of the contract.

The Lumut power plant is located in Segari in the state of Perak, west of the Peninsula Malaysia. It consists of three combined-cycle blocks each equipped with three GT13E2 units running on natural gas with oil as back-up fuel. With a total electricity output of 1,943 MW, it is the largest GT13E2-based combined cycle power plant worldwide.
