Rolls-Royce has announced a US$22 million contract to supply eight Bergen B32:40 16V reciprocating engine generator sets to Baraka Patenga Power Limited (BPPL).

The engines will power BPPL’s 50MW power plant under construction at Patenga, 14km south of the port city of Chittagong in south-eastern Bangladesh.

This order brings the Rolls-Royce fleet of B32:40 16V engines sold to customers in Bangladesh to 48 units. These are capable of delivering over 300MW of power and valued at circa $150 million.

In July 2011 BPPL signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Bangladesh Power Development Board to develop the 50 MW independent power plant project on a ‘Build-Own-Operate’ basis for a term of 15 years.

Energotech company was the winner of the tender for the construction of power station with electric output of 21.5 MW on the site of Kalchinskaye oil & gas field. The field is developed by TNK-Uvat JSC. The station will be developed on the base of five MWM TCG 2032V16 gas engine plants each nominally rated at 4.39 MW. The plants will operate on casing-head gas. Under turn-key contract Energotech will prepare all necessary documentation will deliver the equipment to the site and will carry out assembling and start up works. The commissioning will be started at the end of this year.

Alstom commissioned unit 8 of the TPP-26 cogeneration gas combined cycle power plant in Moscow on behalf of Mosenergo JSC, Russia's largest fossil fuel based power generating company. With an efficiency of 59%, the gas fired cogeneration combined cycle unit will have the highest efficiency of any combined cycle power plant in Russia, while the use of surplus steam for district heating will bring the plant's overall fuel utilization to well over 85%.

The integration of unit 8 was designed to produce 420 MW of electrical power and up to 308 MW of district heating.

The power station operates in island mode. All generated electric and thermal power is used for the needs of multifunctional complex situated in Mytischensky district of Moscow Region. Power equipment for the station was supplied by Power Solutions Russland. The station consists of three GE Energy Jenbacher gas engines JMS 320 GS-N.LC power plants each nominally rated at 1 MW.

The equipment for two power stations will be supplied in the middle of 2012. The station will consist of SGT-700 power plants each rated at 30 MW. After commissioning power station will generate electric and thermal power for the needs of the enterprise. The stations will operate in cogeneration cycle with the production of the steam for technological needs. The station will be equipped with Siemens control system.

Vestas has received a 101 MW order for 56 V100-1.8 MW turbines from Consumers Energy, for the utility’s Lake Winds Energy Park in Mason County, Michigan, USA.

The Lake Winds Energy Park can provide enough electricity to power 30,000 Michigan homes.Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2012, and commissioning is expected in the second half of 2012.

This is the second commercial-scale wind power plant in Michigan to use Vestas turbines. The first, Harvest Wind, was built in 2007 and includes 32 V82-1.65 MW turbines.

Enel OGK-5 success fully launched the new combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT) unit with installed capacity of 410 MW at Sredneuralskaya GRES near Yekaterinburg in the Urals Region. This is the second new power generating facility launched by Enel in Russia as part of Enel's plan to increase the installed capacity as well as improving operational and environmental performances of the generation fleet.
