DONG Energy and Vestas have announced the signing of a letter of intent regarding test of the new V164-7.0 MW turbine.

DONG Energy will perform a design review of the new V164-7.0 MW next generation offshore turbine.

Additionally it is the intention that one or more V164-7.0 MW turbines could be installed at one of DONG Energy’s test sites for research and demonstration purposes and as such will allow DONG Energy to potentially be one of the very first customers to acquire this next generation Vestas turbine for a future commercial offshore project.

The V164-7.0 MW is a dedicated offshore turbine designed specifically for the harsh conditions in the Northern European waters.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. has received an order for an M701F gas turbine and generator for a gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation plant which Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Ltd., a state-owned power generation company will build in Haripur near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Shipment of the gas turbine and generator to Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.who is EPC contractor for the 410 MW New Haripur Combined Cycle Power Plant, is scheduled in April 2012. The plant will be the largest GTCC plant owned by governmental power sector in Bangladesh.

In GTCC plants, gas turbine and steam turbine are used in combination to generate electricity in two stages, utilizing high-temperature exhaust gas from the gas turbine to produce steam to drive steam turbine. This configuration enables GTCC plants to achieve higher thermal efficiency, which in turn reduces fuel consumption and results in less emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) relative to electricity generation, and contribute to environment protection.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), in collaboration with Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd., has received an order for major components for two trains of a natural gas-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power generation system being built by Pocheon Power Co., Ltd., a Korean independent power producer.

MHI also signed a long-term maintenance service contract for the power plant as well as an agreement to invest in Pocheon Power. MHI received the order, which calls for provision of four M501GAC gas turbines and four generators, from Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the power plant construction project. MHI's investment in Pocheon Power will be a 6.7% stake.

Pocheon Power's GTCC plant will have the capacity to generate 1,600 MW (megawatts), placing it among Korea's largest. The plant will be built in Pocheon, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Seoul, the capital, and it will play a part in supplying electricity to the metropolitan area. The first and second trains of the power plant are scheduled for completion by the end of May and November 2014, respectively.

Of the major power plant components on order, MHI will manufacture and supply three of the gas turbines; it will also dispatch technical advisers. Doosan will manufacture the other gas turbine under license from MHI, and other auxiliary equipment. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will be responsible for the four generators. All components are slated for delivery between July and November 2012.

The station will generate electric and thermal power for the needs of greenhouse complex of Teplitsy Ramenskiye Ltd. The station consists of four MWM TGC2032V16 each rated at 3.916 MW. Thermal output of each plant is 3.653 MW. The station is equipped with two waste-heat boilers. Total output of the station is 16 MW. It operates in island mode. The primary fuel is natural gas. General designer of the project is IPK ROSS. All civil, installation and commissioning works were carried out by ASK Industrial Group. The supervisor of the project is Merloni Progetti (Italy).

The plant will consist of two GPA-6 gas pumping units each rated at 6 MW. The units will be equipped with Siemens compressors. The customer for the project is Gazpromneft-Khantos. General contractor is Iskra-Energetika JSC.

Two hot-water boilers with total output of 151 MW started operation on the site of the station. The PGU-200 combined cycle power station will consist of two Ansaldo Energia V64.3À gas turbines, two Pr-100/14.8-9.4/0.85-535/245 heat-recovery steam generators (Podolsk machine-building plant) and Siemens SST-600 steam turbine.

Tp-100/110-8,8 steam turbine was manufactured and supplied by Ural Turbine Plant. It has two cylinders with pressure of 8,8 MPa and output of 100 MW. It replaced K-100 steam turbine destroyed during the conflagration. Steam turbine power plant is equipped with TF-110 electric generator delivered by NPO Elsib. General designer of the project is Engineering Center of UES. Tp-100 steam turbine was developed on the base of Tp-115/120-130-5 and is used for thermal power stations with great load for steam extraction for central heating.
